Child Sexual Predator "Rabbi" Yehuda Kolko Arrested Again

Brooklyn rabbi busted for violating order of protection against boy, 12

Rabbi Yehuda Kolko was charged with sexual abuse in 2006.
Rabbi Yehuda Kolko was charged with sexual abuse in 2006.
A Brooklyn rabbi was arrested for violating an order of protection against a 12-year-old boy he is accused of sexually molesting, police said.
Rabbi Yehuda Kolko was charged with sexual abuse in 2006, accused of molesting students at Yeshiva Torah Temimah in Brooklyn, where he was a teacher. He pleaded guilty to child endangerment.
He was accused of violating an order of protection on Nov. 12 by stopping and glared at one of the victim after they crossed paths on the street.
The boy is set to testify in a civil suit against the school in March, a family advocate said.
"The experience of again being threatened and intimidated by Kolko these past weeks retraumatized him," the boy's father said in a statement to the Daily News. "He can't sleep. He's afraid to go outside."
The father filed a complaint with cops, who arrested Kolko Saturday.
Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Evelyn Laporte warned Kolko to stay away from his accusers at his arraignment on Sunday night. Kolko was released on his own recognizance.
Defense lawyer Jeffrey Schwartz scoffed at the new charges.
"These days they arrest people if you look at them the wrong way. It's not a crime," said Schwartz, accusing the victims of trying to set up Kolko.

The Grooming Process of a Child Sexual Predator.

by Megan Bayliss | More from this Blogger
Grooming is a process of desensitization that predators use on children to prepare and trick them into accepting sexual abuse. Once the predator has gained the child's trust and confidence, they use everyday behaviours, like telling an inappropriate joke, a touch on the upper arm that lingers a little too long or a kiss on the lips to test whether your child is likely to tell on them. If the perpetrator is satisfied that your child won't tell, the predator moves onto other forms of bad touching. If the child still doesn't tell, then the abuse continues along the continuum of abuse from non contact, to contact and often ending with penetration and sometimes even homicide.
Just as we groom ourselves before going out to make us look presentable, predators often groom themselves as wonderful, caring people. They may involve themselves in your family's life and often do great things in the community. This is a trick. This is their game. This is their way of being open about being sneaky and of gaining more access to your child. They often set themselves up to be high profile in a community and they spend a lot of energy in ensuring their innocence. They can sometimes be the person that we would first approach to baby-sit while we go to dinner. They are so good with the kids, so loving and protective, so eager to assist.
Grooming can take many months, and includes grooming adults around the child. Including you. The child's support networks are groomed to disbelieve any thing their child may say about bad touches. The predator may try to win your confidence and support by having some quick conversations with you about a lie the child told or they may even suggest that there's something unbalanced about your child. They do it so caringly and openly portray their concern and willingness to support you. The quick comments may well be true. The child may have lied or may even be acting out of character. But, just remember that if a child lies once it doesn't doom them to an eternal cycle of lying. If ever your child says they've been abused, always believe them, even if you think it's impossible. Remember, your thoughts of impossibility may be because you've been groomed.
Developed world research suggests that eighty-five percent of child sexual abuse is perpetrated by somebody well known to the child: somebody that has access to your child on an ongoing basis. This may suggest that the grooming has become so entrenched into our daily life that we fail to recognize it as grooming. Predators need access to children and the family home is a great place to find kids.
Sometimes we are married to the perpetrators and do not know it because they have groomed us so well. Yes, even some parents sexually abuse their own children. Females too, sexually abuse. Mostly though, parents and grandparents love their children and want to protect them. If you know a family member, or anyone else, who may be abusing children you need to get them some help. The only way to get help is to tell someone in a position to act upon and stop the abuse: the police or child welfare authority in your state. You cannot assist, or change perpetrators, because you would do so at the risk of your child. Failure to protect children is as bad as abusing the child yourself. Darkness to Light suggests that an average serial perpetrator may abuse 400 children in a lifetime. By not protecting one child, you are also failing to protect other children. Please report.
In this age of terrorism, we are quick to act on any suspicious activity. We are trying to prevent further acts of terror by recognizing the warning signs and intervening before something happens. Child sexual abusers are domestic terrorists and their acts affect our children for many years to come. Prevent the infiltration of domestic terrorism by recognizing the grooming process and stopping it now.
In tomorrow's blog we'll look at why children don't always tell you they've been abused. Believe it or not, the silence can also be a part of the grooming process. In the meantime, here's some related articles to ponder: Our children in danger from sexual molestors. Coping with sexual assault. Coping with sexual assault 2. A Brooklyn Criminal Court judge recently warned a yeshiva teacher, who previously pled guilty to child endangerment, to avoid his former victims after he was arrested for staring at a 12-year-old boy he allegedly molested in the past.

Rabbi Yehuda Kolko allegedly stopped and glared at the child, who had an order of protection against him, as they crossed paths on a street on Nov. 12.

The boy was among the students that Kolko, a former teacher at Yeshiva Torah Temimah in Midwood, was accused of molesting in 2006.

The sick bastard got off easy, and now he re-traumatizes his victim. OUTRAGEOUS! It makes me mad. He basically thumbed his nose, daring the kid to tell, and authorities to slam silver cuffs round his wrists.

Perhaps this time around, the courts give him hard time for breaking OP. Now, wouldn't that be ironic and sweet!

A Brooklyn rabbi accused of child molestation has been arrested for violating an order of protection -- by staring at a 12-year-old boy, authorities said last night.

The youngster and his father walked passed Rabbi Joel Kolko's house in Midwood on their way to synagogue on Nov. 5 and said Kolko was leering at the boy, officials said.

The dad filed a complaint, and Kolko, 64, was arrested Saturday at his home, police said.

In 2006, he was charged with sexually abusing three kids. He copped a plea to child endangerment charges, a misdemeanor, to avoid jail time.

Kolko, who moved into a home just two blocks from the boy involved in the staring incident, was released without bail at his arraignment last night.

Judge Evelyn Laporte warned him, "Don't look at them. Don't talk to them. Mind your own business."

Suit claims rabbi molested male students
United Press International
May 6, 2006

NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) -- A New York rabbi and his religious school are being sued by two men who claim they were sexually abused as children more than a quarter-century ago.

One man, identified as John Doe No. 1, says Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, 60, molested him when he was in the seventh-grade at Yeshiva-Mesivta Torah Temimah in Brooklyn in the 1970s, the Daily News reported. The man, now 48, said at a news conference that Kolko had him sit on his lap while the rabbi was driving him to school and also abused him at a summer camp.

The second man says he was molested 10 years later when he was a seventh grader.

Jeffrey Herman, a Miami lawyer representing John Doe No. 1, accuses the school of protecting the rabbi by intimidating boys who had been abused.
Kolko cannot face criminal charges under New York law because of a three-year statute of limitations.

Rabbi in sex suit

Ex-students seek $20M

May 6, 2006
A Brooklyn rabbi and his yeshiva were hit with a $20 million civil lawsuit yesterday, accusing him of molesting two students more than 25 years ago.

One of the alleged victims said Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, 60, sexually assaulted him when he was a seventh-grade student attending Yeshiva-Mesivta Torah Temimah, an Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, religious school.

"It happened in his car on the way to school and at recess during summer camp," the 48-year-old man said at a press conference.

The plaintiff, identified by his Miami lawyer, Jeffrey Herman, only as John Doe No. 1, was allegedly molested during the early 1970s over a two-year period, Herman said.

The alleged victim charges that Kolko had instructed him to sit on his lap and hold the steering wheel while they were in Kolko's car on the way to school as the rabbi molested him.

Herman, who claims there are at least 15 victims, charges that school officials waged a campaign of intimidation and concealment against victims and their families to bury the accusations against the rabbi.

School officials could not be reached for comment.

Kolko, who lives in Midwood in a red-brick house on E. 22nd St., could not be reached for comment.

The other plaintiff, who was not present, was identified as a 38-year-old man who was allegedly sexually abused when he was also a seventh-grader in the 1980s.

The alleged offenses exceed New York's three-year statute of limitations.

Haredi women go under the knife

Young ultra-Orthodox woman enhances her breasts before wedding; 60-year-old gets nose job because 'it's accepted now'. Perceptions of plastic, aesthetic surgeries previously regarded as altering God's creation, are slowly changing in haredi community

Something is happening to our woman of valor. She is no longer satisfied with sewing and selling sheets or with making belts for Canaanites. Even compliments from her husband, sitting with the elders, do not lift her spirits anymore.

Today she knows that when she gets up at night and reaches for the spindle – it will not do any good to her facial skin.

Yes, today's woman of valor wants grace and beauty, and during the International Plastics and Aesthetics Surgery Conference held in Jerusalem, the halacha's different approaches towards plastic surgery were discussed, as well as the growing demand for such surgeries amongst the ultra-Orthodox sector.

"Man was created in the image of God, and Judaism puts great emphasis on respecting one's body. This raises the question whether man is allowed to meddle with it," explains Dr. Moshe Fried, one of the only religious plastic surgeons in Israel. "There is a consensus when it comes to health issues that the physician has the authority to heal according to the halacha. Anything having to do with illnesses, traumas, and birth defects – that's not even a question.

"The problem starts when a healthy person sees a doctor and asks him to alter his body for aesthetic reasons. Is a doctor allowed to alter a creature made by God? And is a man permitted to risk his life, go under general anesthesia and then get surgery in order to improve his looks? When we hear the reaction from our patients today, we understand things we didn't understand before – sometimes a person feels he's ugly on the outside, even though others don't see it. He feels he is flawed, and a physical alteration affects his metal status."

A Partial Biography of Rabbi Yehuda Kolko & Rabbi Lipa Margulies

[This summary was written by an anonymous ultra-Orthodox insider and published as part of an open letter during the first week of December, 2006. The events dated after July, 2006 have been added by this website's adminstrator.]

· 1967 – While working as Dormitory Counselor at Yeshivas Mir, Rabbi Yehuda Kolko calls a student (name withheld) out of his dormitory room and begins discussing matters of a sexual nature with him while rubbing up against him in an aroused state. This abuse continues for the remainder of the school year and into the summer season at Camp Agudah [then owned by Agudath Israel of America]. This student is now a distinguished Manhattan attorney living happily with his partner in New York City and insists that his lifestyle choice has absolutely nothing to do with his abuse by Kolko.

· 1969 thru 1971 - Rabbi Yehuda Kolko begins abusing Dovid Framowitz in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas of Flatbush (now known as Yeshiva Torah Temimah) and Camp Agudah, the details of which abuse are now public knowledge. Mr. Framowitz, a grandfather living in Eretz Yisroel, has not gone a day since being abused without reliving the unspeakable agony he suffered at Kolko’s hands.

· 1972 - Rabbi Yehuda Kolko sexually abuses two young campers (names withheld at the request of the victims) in Camp Agudah who complain to their counselor. Their counselor reports the complaint to Rabbi Simcha Kaufman. The abuse of these two boys cease for the remainder of that summer. Rabbi Simcha Kaufman is a co-worker of Kolko in Yeshiva Torah Temimah (more on Kaufman below) and was a co-worker of Kolko in Camp Agudah until 1976 when Kolko voluntarily left Camp Agudah after he co-founded Camp Ma-Na-Vu with Rabbi Lipa Geldwirth, another co-worker of his at Yeshiva Torah Temimah.

· 1977 – Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, employed as a Rebbe in Yeshiva Torah Temimah in the morning, is employed in the afternoons by Yeshiva Karlin Stolin as Secular Studies Principal. During the course of his short tenure in Yeshiva Karlin Stolin numerous complaints are lodged by both students and parents (names withheld at the request of the victims) accusing Kolko of sexually abusing boys in the Yeshiva. Rabbi Shmuel Dishon asks Kolko to leave the employ of the Yeshiva.

· 1977 on – Eyewitness testimony and accusations of sexual abuse by Rabbi Yehuda Kolko of students at Yeshiva Torah Temimah and Camp Ma-Na-Vu reach a crescendo which culminates in several businessmen approaching Rabbi Lipa Margulies in 1984 and offering to fund a retirement package for Rabbi Yehuda Kolko provided he seeks employment away from children. Rabbi Lipa Margulies steadfastly refuses to accept the offer and suggests that those parents who disagree with his decision remove their children from his Yeshiva Torah Temimah.

· 1981 – Rabbi Yehuda Kolko sexually abuses a twelve year old student of Yeshiva Torah Temimah (name withheld at the request of the victim.) This victim publicizes the abuse and acts out, vandalizing Kolko’s home and car. Rabbi Lipa Margulies calls this victims father and warns him that if this activity does not stop his other children would be expelled from Yeshiva and the safety of his family could not be guaranteed. This victim is subsequently referred to Avrohom Mondrowitz for counseling.

The Truth About Agudah said...

· 1984 – As instructed by Rabbi Avigdor Miller, an Askan calls for a meeting which takes place at the home of Rabbi Yakov Perlow (the Novominsker) and is attended by Rabbi Avrohom Pam, Rabbi Elya Svei, Rabbi Chaim Dov Keller, Rabbi Aharon Schechter, Rabbi Moshe Scheinerman, Rabbi Shia Fishman and Rabbi Yankel Bender. At this meeting, chaired by Rabbi Perlow, the Askan discusses what is transpiring to innocent boys at the hands of Rabbi pedophiles and requests that Torah Umesorah and the Rabbonim issue a statement calling for their removal from Chinuch. Rabbi Svei informs this Askan that Torah Umesorah has consulted their attorneys who advised that for Torah Umesorah to admit knowledge of such abuse would subject Torah Umesorah, its staff, all its member schools and their staff to liability for not having reported their knowledge to the authorities earlier. Accordingly, Rabbi Elya Svei informs the Askan, neither he nor Torah Umesorah will do anything about this problem.

· 1984 thru 1985 – At directed by Rabbi Avrohom Pam an Askan approaches Rabbi Moshe Scheinerman and the two meet with Rabbi Shia (Joshua) Fishman in the office of Torah Umesorah. Both Scheinerman and Fishman neglect to inform this Askan that Fishman had been instructed by Torah Umesorah’s lawyer to do nothing about this issue. Rabbi Fishman requests the names of Kolko’s victims and promises absolute confidentiality. Names are provided to Rabbi Fishman who begins his own investigation of the allegations. He meets with and speaks with several victims who pour their hearts out to him after he guarantees them confidentiality. Rabbi Shia Fishman promptly discloses all he has learned to Rabbi Lipa Margulies who in turn publicly disparages and discredits each and every one of those boys who were brave enough to step forward.

· 1985 – A follow up meeting takes place at the home of Rabbi Simcha Kaufman and includes Rabbi Kaufman, Rabbi Lipa Margulies, Rabbi Shia Fishman, an Askan and an eyewitness. The eyewitness recounts his personal knowledge of Rabbi Kolko’s sexual abuse of boys and discusses the information he had gleaned from others. Rabbi Lipa Margulies insists that the charges are all fabrications and attacks the reputations of everyone involved in seeking the removal of Kolko from his Yeshiva Torah Temimah. Rabbi Shia Fishman subsequently informs anyone who asks that he can not deal with this issue as he is old (50 at the time) and will lose his job if he pursues this matter.

· 1985 – Rabbi Moshe Scheinerman is offered a lucrative and prestigious position as Rav of a Shul (a position he holds to this day) and is told that he must cease and desist from his actions against Yeshiva Torah Temimah Rabbeim (his own words) which he promptly does. Scheinerman abandons ship explaining that it is not appropriate for a rabbi of his stature to deal with these matters. Rabbi Yehoshua Leiman takes over.

The Truth About Agudah said...

· 1985 - Rabbi Yehoshua Leiman and others continue their quest for a solution and convene a Bais Din for this purpose. This Bais Din, consisting of Rabbi Menashe Klein, Rabbi Yechezkel Roth, Rabbi Aharon Stein, Rabbi Moshe Stern and Rabbi Chaim Yankel Tauber, is scheduled to hear testimony for two days after which they will rule on how to proceed. This panel meets and hears testimony for one day. Shortly thereafter, Rabbi Moshe Stern states that he is unable to participate in any more sessions and this Bais Din is disbanded without further explanation. In a private conversation with one of the Askanim, Rabbi Stern disclosed that he had been approached by Rabbi Lipa Margulies which resulted in the discontinuance of the Din Torah.

· 1985 – Upon the dissolution of the above Bais Din, Rabbi Lipa Margulies retains Rabbi Pinchus Scheinberg to convene a second Bais Din for the purpose of clearing Rabbi Yehuda Kolko’s name. Rabbi Lipa Margulies then drafts Rabbi Friedman (the Tenka Rav) and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Brown to serve on Rabbi Scheinberg’s Bais Din. Prior to convening the Bais Din, Rabbi Pinchus Scheinberg speaks with several of Kolko’s victims and asks them to describe what Kolko has done to them. Upon hearing the allegations Rabbi Scheinberg informs the boys that in the eyes of Halacha they had not been molested. Rabbi Scheinberg also calls the Askanim and tells them to cease and desist in their attempts to remove Kolko from Chinuch. Rabbi Avigdor Miller disagrees and instructs the Askanim in no uncertain terms to do whatever must be done to protect children from Kolko. Rabbi Pinchus Scheinberg convenes the Bais Din and takes the position that Rabbi Kolko has a Chezkas Kashrus absent any testimony by two adult witnesses to any single event. Rabbi Friedman takes the position that in light of the persistent rumors Rabbi Kolko must be kept away from children. Rabbi Brown ultimately concedes that there is no Halachic evidence against Kolko and the Din Torah is concluded. Rabbi Lipa Margulies insists that he has a Psak from this Bais Din but to this day has refused to produce it. Regardless, it is of note that no victims testified before this Bais Din.

· 1987 – Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, having groomed a former first grade student of his for years, begins systematically sexually abusing this boy (name withheld at the request of the victim) both in and out of the Yeshiva Torah Temimah building. When this boy complains to Rabbi Lipa Margulies that his grades are slipping because Kolko is removing him from class almost daily, Margulies responds by slapping the boy across the face and throwing him out of his office. This young man is now living down south where he is on leave of absence from the U.S. Army.

· 2001 – Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, takes a young Yeshiva Torah Temimah student under his wing (name withheld at the request of the victim) and begins removing him from class for “special projects.” These special projects include the boy being sexually molested by Kolko in the basement of the Yeshiva, in Rabbi Kolko’s car and in Rabbi Kolko’s private office, which Rabbi Lipa Margulies has conveniently equipped with its own private bathroom. This young man is currently in therapy and hopes to be able to recover enough to be able to get married and start a family.

The Truth About Agudah said...

· 2005 – Dovid Framowitz, after years of searching on the internet, chances upon a post written by a blogger calling himself “Un-Orthodox Jew” which makes reference to Rabbi Lipa Margulies harboring Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, a known pedophile, in his Yeshiva Torah Temimah. Dovid begins communicating with this blogger via e-mail who in turn posts Dovid’s story on his blog. Over the course of several months other victims of Kolko begin to step forward with their stories.

· January 2006 – Several Askonim decide that this four decade long Chillul Hashem must stop and approach both Rabbi Yehuda Kolko and Rabbi Lipa Margulies with a demand that Kolko be removed from Yeshiva Torah Temimah and Camp Silver Lake and further commit to spending the rest of his life in treatment and away from children. Both Kolko and Margulies refuse.

· February 2006 – A letter is drafted informing the public that Rabbi Yehuda Kolko is a dangerous pedophile and that Rabbi Lipa Margulies continues to employ him despite his knowledge of this fact. Copies of this draft letter are delivered to Kolko and Margulies. Both Kolko and Margulies are offered the opportunity to deal quietly with the issue and are informed that if they continue to refuse, the letter would be mass mailed to the entire community. Kolko responds by stating that “the matter has been taken care of” and Margulies responds by asking if anyone “thinks Kolko is still a threat” and declares “if anyone does not like the way I run my yeshiva let them not send their children to my yeshiva.” They refuse to comply and the letter is sent out in a mass mailing.

· February 2006 – Eli Greenwald, a graduate of Yeshiva and Mesivta Torah Temimah, son of one of the founders of the Yeshiva and a parent in the Yeshiva receives the letter and spends a few days investigating the matter. He calls Rabbi Yaakov Applegrad, the Yeshiva’s Administrator, and requests a meeting of the Vaad HaHorim in order to address this serious issue. Rabbi Applegrad informs him that there will be no meeting as the allegations are false and that he and Rabbi Margulies have the matter under control. Mr. Greenwald called Rabbi Lipa Margulies and makes the same request of him. Rabbi Margulies responds by shouting at him.

The Truth About Agudah said...

· February 17, 2006 – Eli Greenwald is served with a Hazmana issued by Rabbi Yisroel Belsky calling him to a Din Torah to answer the charge of Hotzoas Shem Rah allegedly committed against Rabbi Yehuda Kolko. Mr. Greenwald responds on February 21, 2006, that he will appear for a Din Torah before the Bais Din of America. To this day there has been no reply to Mr. Greenwald’s response by either Kolko or Rabbi Yisroel Belsky.

· February 2006 – An Askan meets with Rabbi Yaakov Perlow and pleads with him to get involved in this matter. Rabbi Perlow refuses on the basis of his being a Yuchid and this being a Tzibur matter. After being pressed further Rabbi Perlow takes his final stand that this is a Flatbush matter and as he is a Boro Park Rabbi it would be unseemly for him to get involved in this matter.

· March 2006 – Rabbi Lipa Margulies reaches a standstill agreement with the Askonim by committing to appear before a panel consisting of two Rabbonim and one Frum lawyer, all three of whom had been chosen by him. Rabbi Lipa Margulies reneges on his promise to appear before this panel.

· March 23, 2006 – A Hazmana to a Din Torah is sent to Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, Rabbi Lipa Margulies and Yeshiva Torah Temimah summoning them to a Din Torah before the Bais Din of Mechon L’Hoyroa or a Bais Din of ZBLA. The Hazmana is ignored by all the defendants.

· March 30, 2006 – A second Hazmana to a Din Torah is sent to Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, Rabbi Lipa Margulies and Yeshiva Torah Temimah summoning them to a Din Torah before the Bais Din of Mechon L’Hoyroa or a Bais Din of ZBLA. By fax sent on April 5, 2006, Rabbi Lipa Margulies responds to this Hazmana stating he will not appear for a Din Torah “without a prior determination of the charges against Rabbi Kolko.” Rabbi Kolko continues to ignore the Hazmanas.

· April 6, 2006 – A third Hazmana to a Din Torah is sent to Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, Rabbi Lipa Margulies and Yeshiva Torah Temimah summoning them to a Din Torah before the Bais Din of Mechon L’Hoyroa or a Bais Din of ZBLA. By fax sent on April 10, 2006, Rabbi Lipa Margulies responds to this Hazmana by stating “the Hazmonah that you sent to us was not a valid Hazmonah.” Rabbi Kolko does not respond at all. It is of note that Rabbi Yehuda Kolko is still teaching in Yeshiva Torah Temimah while these exchange are taking place.

· May 4, 2006 – A lawsuit is filed in United States District Court: Eastern District of New York, naming Rabbi Yehuda Kolko; Yeshiva & Mesivta Torah Temimah, Inc. and Camp Agudah as defendants. Rabbi Yehuda Kolko remains in the classrooms of Yeshiva Torah Temimah.

· May 5, 2006 – Rabbi Simcha Kaufman approaches Dovid Framowitz and with tears in his eyes tells him that if only he had known what Rabbi Kolko was doing to him he would have put a stop to it. Of interest was Rabbi Simcha Kaufman’s complete denial of any prior knowledge of any accusation before Dovid Framowitz brought his lawsuit. Rabbi Simcha Kaufman pleads with Dovid to withdraw his lawsuit lest he hurt Rabbi Lipa Margulies and the Yeshiva.

· May 10, 2006 – After being approached for comment on several occasions by Robert Kolker, a reporter for New York Magazine, and with a 5:00 printing deadline looming, Rabbi Lipa Margulies issues a statement through his attorney at 4:30 PM. Beginning with a proclamation that Yeshiva Torah Temimah is the preeminent Yeshiva in the world followed by an absolute denial of all the allegations, the statement concludes with an announcement that Rabbi Kolko has agreed to a “leave of absence” pending the resolution of this matter. Despite this claim, Rabbi Yehuda Kolko remains in the classrooms of Yeshiva Torah Temimah.

· May 12, 2006 – A second lawsuit is filed in United States District Court: Eastern District of New York naming Rabbi Yehuda Kolko; Yeshiva & Mesivta Torah Temimah, Inc. as defendants. Still, Rabbi Yehuda Kolko remains in the classrooms of Yeshiva Torah Temimah.

· May 15, 2006 – “On the Rabbi’s Knees – Do the Orthodox Jews Have a Catholic Priest Problem” a feature article in New York Magazine, a publication with a circulation of three million, is published. Within days of the publication of the article and after thirty-eight years of committing unspeakable acts of perversion in Yeshiva Torah Temimah, Kolko leaves the classrooms of Yeshiva Torah Temimah. It was only after the magazine hit the newsstands that Margulies succumbed to pressure and removed Kolko from the classrooms of Yeshiva Torah Temimah.

· July 2006 – Over the vocal protest of many residents and with the help of his friend Rabbi Yaakov Applegrad, Rabbi Yehuda Kolko takes up summer residence at a home in Regency Estates in the Catskills. Despite the claim that Kolko was on a leave of absence from Yeshiva Torah Temimah, he continues working for Camp Silver Lake, Yeshiva Torah Temimah’s summer home. In addition, Kolko initiates and organizes a multi-camp excursion to Lake Compounce, a water park located in Connecticut, where he is seen frolicking with young boys in bathing suits. A media outcry ensues resulting in Kolko being banned from the park by its non-Jewish management. Astonishingly, in August Kolko organizes a second trip to Lake Compounce, which is attended by the same Frum boy’s camps who participated in the July trip.

- December 6, 2006 – A civil suit is filed against Mesivta Torah Temimah in Kings County (Brooklyn) NY by the parents of a boy, now 9, who claims Rabbi Kolko abused him in 2003 and 2004.

- December 7, 2006 – Rabbi Yehuda Kolko is arrested in Brooklyn on criminal abuse charges.

Quebec judge allows alleged sex abuse victims to sue priest, seminary

Updated: Thu Nov. 25 2010 2:46:11 PM

QUEBEC, The Canadian Press

A judge has allowed alleged sex-abuse victims to sue the Quebec priest they say molested them.

A dozen alleged victims of Father Raymond-Marie Lavoie had sought the right to file a civil suit, seeking damages from him and College St-Alphonse.

Quebec Superior Court Justice Claude Bouchard allowed the civil action on Wednesday.

Lavoie was a music teacher at the defunct Roman Catholic college near Quebec City and he also oversaw the dormitory.

The case still faces a number of hurdles before it reaches the trial phase, including a challenge from the college and the congregation.

The suit names the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, based in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, which operated the school.

The suit was filed on behalf of victims of sexual abuse by priests between 1960 and 1987. Each of the alleged victims is claiming hundreds of thousands in damages.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

Lavoie, who is now in his 70s, also faces criminal charges related to the alleged abuse of youths under his care in the late 1970s and early '80s.

Both Lavoie's criminal and civil cases return to court in January.

Followers of Israeli 'rabbi' accused of child abuse sentenced for complicity
The four were convicted of severely abusing eight children under Chen's orders two years ago; one of the children remains unconscious to this day.

Jerusalem District Court sentenced Tuesday four disciples of self proclaimed Rabbi Elior Chen to lengthy prison sentences, after they were convicted of child abuse earlier this year.

The four were convicted in February of severely abusing eight children. David Kugman- the central defendant in the case – was sentenced to 20 years in jail; Avraham Mascalchi and Shimon Gabai were sentenced to 17 years in prison, and Ro'i Tzoref was sentenced to 30 months in prison after the court ruled that he played a minor part in the abuse.

The child abuse affair was uncovered two years ago, when a child Chen had been treating was taken to the hospital unconscious. Once the story became public, Chen fled to Brazil, which extradited him back to Israel. He is now on trial at the Jerusalem District Court.

Chen, who called himself a rabbi, told his disciples the abuse was necessary to "purify" the children, all members of one family. As a result, the children were severely beaten, burned, locked in suitcases and forced to eat their own feces, among other acts; one child remains in a coma to this day as a result.

In her ruling, Judge Nava Ben-Or called the case "incomprehensible," adding that Israel has never before known anything like it.

For instance, Mascalchi, 25, was convicted of burning the fingers of one child, taping his mouth shut, stuffing him into a suitcase and leaving him there for some time. Kugman, 24, was convicted of tying up the children and then beating them. He also held one child to an electric heater, causing burns so severe that the child needed a skin transplant.

Two of the four defendants denied all the charges against them. The other two admitted to some, but claimed that they were helpless under Chen's "magical" influence.

The mother of the eight children, who remains unnamed, was sentenced in May to five years in prison after pleading guilty to shaking, burning and tying up her children.

Chen's trial is currently taking place in Jerusalem.

NEW YORK (CBS 2) — Members of Brooklyn’s orthodox Jewish community were angered Monday after a rabbi was given a ticket for jaywalking and then subjected to what they say was insensitive treatment by a police officer.

Rabbi Sholom Emert and his wife are upset not so much that he got a ticket for jaywalking on a busy avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn. But rather, he said, that the police officer forced him to violate the traditions of his Orthodox Jewish faith.

“This officer did not understand my religious life,” Rabbi Emert told CBS 2’s John Metaxas

Hanukkah, Chanukah, Chanukka, Hanuka, Channukah, Hanukah, Chanukkah, Hannukah, Chanuka, Hanaka ... this could drive any word nerd to the psycho ward. Which version is correct? Who's the ultimate authority on the English spelling of this Hebrew word? If only it could be as easy as "Yom Kippur."

So it's time to consult the experts. Unfortunately, they all disagree.

The one source that we pretend is an expert on all things even though it really shouldn't be considered as a 100 percent factual source (thanks, Internet!), Wikipedia gives a brief linguistic lesson on why there are so many variations of the spelling, for all you Hebrew newbies.

It is most commonly transliterated to English as Chanukkah or Hanukkah, the former because the sound represented by "CH" ([χ], similar to the Scottish pronunciation of "loch") essentially does not exist in the modern English language.

Also, the letter "chet," the first letter in the Hebrew spelling, is pronounced differently in modern Hebrew and classical Hebrew. And guess what? Neither of these sounds is represented in English. Awesome., a how-to site, did the work for me and found all the authorities on spelling and what their version of it is. To make things difficult for us linguistic lovers, none of them can seem to come to an agreement:

As far as the ticket in this case goes, good for the cop. I'm tired of people expecting special privledges because of some nutty belief in superstitious nonsense. You have a right to believe in whatever you like, that doesn't give you the right to break the law or push your beliefs on others. Suck it up Rabbi.

A 10-year-old DeKalb County girl helped police capture the man accused of molesting her Wednesday morning.

"She was inappropriately touched while she was on her way to school," Officer Jason Gagnon with DeKalb police told the AJC.

The man, later identified as 49-year-old Stanford Reid Cowan, also allegedly threatened the girl, Gagnon said.

The girl was able to get away from the man, and when she got to Knollwood Elementary School, she let the school resource officer know what happened, Gagnon said. The school officer called police.

When officers interviewed the girl, whose name was not released, she was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect, Gagnon said.

"She described him down to a T," Gagnon said.

Officers went to Cowan's home and questioned him before he was arrested and charged with child molestation and making terroristic threats, Gagnon said.

Cowan was being held in the DeKalb jail Wednesday night without bond, according to jail records.

Police: Brooklyn Rabbi, Sons Sexually Abused Family Members For 15 Years said...

* Rabbi suspected of sexually abusing relatives: police

As the manhunt continued for the Brooklyn rabbi accused of sexually abusing female relatives, one of his sons was charged with a series of sickening attacks — and ordered to stay away from his underage victims.

Yechezkel Kranczer, 24, posted $10,000 bail and left Brooklyn Criminal Court Saturday afternoon after he was arraigned on charges of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was instructed to not contact his 13- and 16-year-old victims. Kranczer, two brothers and his father, Rabbi Gershon Kranczer, are together accused of abusing four relatives for years.

Yechezkel Kranczer, dressed in traditional Orthodox garb, made eye contact with the judge and simply uttered "Yes" when asked if he understood the charges — which are both misdemeanors — and the restraining order.

He refused to speak with reporters outside the courtroom.

Yechezkel Kranczer's passport was taken in an attempt to prevent him from fleeing the country, which investigators believe the rabbi did Monday as cops closed in.

Gershon Kranczer, the 58-year-old former head of Yeshiva Tehila L'Dovid, and his 20-year-old son Asher boarded a flight at Kennedy Airport and flew to Israel.

They have not been located.

Investigators believe the rabbi and three of his sons — Yechezkel, Asher, and a 15-year-old whose name has not been released — repeatedly preyed on four female relatives.

The abuse came to light after one of the women, who is now 20, broke down and told a co-worker at a yeshiva that the rabbi had been molesting her for 15 years.

"This family ... has been engaged in a horrific pattern of sexual abuse," said Assistant District Attorney John Holmes.

Cops raided the rabbi's dilapidated Midwood home where he and his wife — who are first cousins — raised 14 children.

Though prosecutors believe the home, which is crammed with bunk beds and children's toys, was the site of the many of the attacks, they do not believe the wife was involved in the pattern of abuse.

The children range in age from 10 to 28. The minors were placed in the care of the Administration for Children's Services.

The 15-year-old suspect surrendered to police and is awaiting arraignment, officials said.

Neighbors were stunned at the allegations against the rabbi, who ran a yeshiva that catered to disabled children. Several of the rabbi's children are disabled — including Asher, who is legally blind.

A former Brooklyn yeshiva principal and three of his sons sexually abused four of the principal’s other children, molesting one of the victims over 15 years, the authorities said Friday.

The police are still looking for the man, Rabbi Gershon Kranczer, 58, and one of his sons, Asher Kranczer, 21, who they believe fled to Israel earlier this week. Another son, Yechezkel Kranczer, 24, turned himself in to the police on Thursday and has been charged with 70 counts of sexual abuse and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The third son, a 15-year-old whose name was withheld by the authorities, was brought in for questioning on Wednesday, made statements implicating himself in the abuse and was arrested, said Paul J. Browne, the Police Department’s chief spokesman.

The authorities believe the abuse occurred in a three-story house in Midwood, Brooklyn, that Rabbi Kranczer shared with his wife and 12 of his 14 children. Neighbors said the family had lived in the house for more than 20 years. A law enforcement official said the house had a large kitchen and several bunk beds.

Mr. Browne said the situation came to light after one of the children, who works as a teacher’s aide at a yeshiva, told a colleague about the abuse on Monday. The colleague contacted the authorities, Mr. Browne said.

He said that Rabbi Kranczer and his son Asher flew from Kennedy International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv on Monday, possibly because they had learned the authorities were investigating. Law enforcement officials said that Rabbi Kranczer and Asher, who is legally blind, were driven to the airport by Rabbi Kranczer’s wife, whom the police did not identify by name.

Yechezkel Kranczer married recently and had moved out of the home, the authorities said.

Asher, who a law-enforcement official said is legally blind, is being investigated in the sexual abuse of three of his sisters, police said.

"We are seeking the exact whereabouts and return from Israel of the two men," top NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.

Two other sons, Yechezkel, 24, and a 15-year-old whose name was being withheld by authorities because of his age, have been arrested and charged with sexually abusing their sisters, police said.

A Brooklyn father and three sons sexually abused four female members of their large family over a 15 year period, police said today.

Now, former Yeshiva teacher Gershon Kranczer, 58, and his legally blind son Asher Kranczer, 21, are being sought by The NYPD after they fled to Israel on Nov. 29, when the oldest victim, 20, finally reported the sick, twisted situation, sources said.

Police are investigating whether Gershon allegedly sodomized and sexually abused two of his daughters, ages 20 and 19.

Cops are also investigating allegations against Asher that he allegedly raped the same two victims and sexually abused a 17-year-old sister.

Gershon’s two other sons, Yechezkel Kranczer, 24, and a 15-year-old, recently surrendered to police and were slapped with various sexual-related charges.

Yechezkel allegedly molested the two sisters, ages 17 and 20, while the younger suspect allegedly abused his 8-year-old sister.

The family, consisting of 14 children with 7 males and 7 females, lived in a two-story detached house in Brooklyn with a large kitchen and bunk beds, sources said.

The Administration for Child Services removed all of the minors in the household, sources said.

A man whose wife caught him sexually assaulting a 3-year-old relative ended his life with a gun.

The standoff began at 9:43 a.m. Saturday.

The wife told authorities that the child had gone upstairs to get some clean clothes at a home on Steubenville Pike Road.

The woman, who was cooking, told the child she would be up soon to help her.

When the woman went upstairs a few minutes later, she told authorities she found her husband assaulting the child.

She told a sheriff’s deputy that she grabbed the child and the suitcase containing the child’s clothes and ran downstairs while telling her husband he was sick.

Her husband, Howard McNeal, 58, said that if she called authorities, he would kill himself.

She contacted a deputy from the Columbiana County sheriff’s office, who asked if her husband had any guns. She said he did.

The woman described what she had seen in detail.

The deputy told her to take the child immediately to a hospital for a rape test.

Another deputy arrived along with a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A deputy looked through a window and saw the man talking on the phone with one hand while his other hand was behind his back.

The deputy asked the man to show his hands, and the grandfather produced a handgun and held it to his head.

The report said the man said he did not want to talk to authorities and that he wanted to kill himself.

The county’ Special Response Team was called out while John Gamble, the chief assistant prosecutor, filed a felony charge of gross sexual imposition against McNeal, a process that took several hours.

Law-enforcement officials tried to flush out McNeal with a smoke grenade. When the smoke cleared, law-enforcement officials found McNeal dead on the floor with a self- inflicted gunshot wound.

Bibi slams rabbis’ ban on renting to non-Jews

December 7, 2010

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has blasted a ruling by dozens of Israel's municipal chief rabbis that forbids renting homes to gentiles, and more specifically to Arabs.

Netanyahu said the ruling, which became public Tuesday, was inconsistent with democratic values.

The ruling comes less than two months after leading rabbis in Safed signed on to a letter drafted by the city's chief rabbi calling on Jews not to rent to non-Jews in the northern Israeli city, as well as a month after rabbis in the haredi Orthodox Israeli city of Bnei Brak issued a religious ruling forbidding residents to rent apartments to African refugees, echoing a similar ruling for southern Tel Aviv.

"How would we feel if someone said not to sell apartments to Jews?" The Jerusalem Post quoted Netanyahu as saying Tuesday evening at a Bible contest. "We would protest, and we do protest when it is said among our neighbors. It is forbidden that such things are said about Jews or Arabs."

Among those signing the letter are the chief rabbis of Ramat Hasharon, Ashdod, Kiryat Gat, Rishon Letzion, Carmiel, Gadera, Afula, Nahariya, Herzliya, Nahariya and Pardes Hannah. Top national-religious Rabbi Shlomo Aviner signed the letter, as did Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, son of the Shas Party spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef. Top haredi leader Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv also signed.

The ruling states that renting to non-Jews and Arabs will deflate the value of the home and of homes in the area. It says that neighbors of those who are renting or considering selling to non-Jews or Arabs should first warn the neighbor personally, and if the behavior continues to notify the community. The offending landlord, according to the ruling, must be ignored and not be called to the Torah for an aliyah.

Israeli civil rights organizations and Knesset members criticized the ruling and called for rabbis who signed to be fired from their jobs. Municipal chief rabbis' salaries are paid for by the state.

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel issued a statement calling on Netanyahu to condemn the ruling and take action against those who signed it.

"Rabbis who are civil servants have an obligation to the entire public, including Israel's Arab citizens" the statement said. "It is unthinkable that they would use their public status to promote racism and incitement."

Two U.S. Jewish groups, the Anti-Defamation League and the New Israel Fund, praised Netanyahu for his denunciation of the ruling.

"It is outrageous and unacceptable that rabbis across Israel are promoting blatant discrimination against non-Jews," the ADL said.

The NIF called on Netanyahu to set in motion the suspension of the municipal rabbis from their posts.

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes announced the charges against the Regal Entertainment Group, TGI Fridays, Knapp Street Bagel, and Deauville Marina.

The DA says the Regal movie theatre ignored repeated notices calling for pipe repairs.

The sewage leaks occurred in Shell Bank Creek, near Sheepshead Bay and Marine Park, which empties into Jamaica Bay and eventually the Atlantic Ocean.

Investigators found noxious odors, fecal matter and toilet paper in the creek from the theatre's septic system as recently as this year.

"The environment is a very strong, independent area in our society which is to the good. So if these people understand as a result of these prosecutions that we're not going to tolerate it anymore, maybe we can get a long-term cure," Hynes said.

TGI Fridays responded to NY1's request for comment saying the allegations are inaccurate and misleading, but they are taking the charges seriously and are cooperating with the investigation.

I can't believe they convicted over the words of some boys with an ax to grind. Where is proof?

By David Hunt

Twenty years, a dropped case and an acquittal later, Jacksonville prosecutors say they finally got their man.

Nelson G. Alfonso, a 56-year-old Cuban immigrant convicted of molesting young boys, sometimes in an ice cream truck that trolled through the Westside, will spend the rest of his life in prison.

It was a court saga that lived on in relative silence since the early 1990s, when prosecutors dropped sexual assault charges as the victims became uncooperative.

Alfonso faced a fresh set of charges a decade later. Prosecutor Alan Mizrahi still says he’s unsure how he lost the trial. Best he could figure, the jury bought Alfonso’s defense that he couldn’t understand English after detectives testified that he confessed.

But in December 2009, the latest set of charges were filed as a handful of young men came forward and Alfonso was convicted.

Mizrahi said some of the victims in the latest case would have been molested before the victims in the previous case.

“It was disturbing,” he said.

The basic defense was that Alfonso didn’t do it. Mizrahi said he had no physical evidence, just the testimony of the young boys. The four of them were between the ages of 6 and 12 when Alfonso molested them.

Mizrahi said he was able to help build his case by calling the victim from the 1991 case to testify about what had happened to him, even though that case never moved forward.

Alfonso’s lawyer, Assistant Public Defender Alphonse Perkins, argued for a new trial before Circuit Judge David Gooding sentenced Alfonso to life this week. The judge denied the request. Perkins declined to comment on Friday.
Alfonso was convicted of six counts of capital sexual battery and six counts of lewd molestation.

Alfonso’s arrest report said that one of the victims came forth on Dec. 7, 2009. He told police that Alfonso would force him into oral and anal sex.

Sometimes it was in bed or in a car, but Alfonso also used an ice cream truck he’d drive through Westside neighborhoods as cover while he molested the children.

Other victims came forward within the next week. Another came forward in February.

Mizrahi said there were four victims in the most recent case. Counting the two other cases that did not move forward, a total of seven young boys have accused Alfonso of molesting them.

Alfonso’s arrest report said he’s been in Jacksonville for 25 years. His last listed address is on Melvin Road near Interstate 295 on the Westside.,

Authorities said they suspected suicide. An autopsy by the New York City medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death was scheduled for Sunday.

“No one wants to hear the truth,” Mark Madoff wrote to his attorney in an email sent around 4.a.m. Saturday, the New York Post reported Sunday, citing a law-enforcement source.

The 46-year-old also asked his attorney to “take care of my family,” the newspaper said.

Mark Madoff was under intense scrutiny by prosecutors seeking to connect him to his father’s crimes, and his death came just three days after he was named in a civil lawsuit, according to media reports.

Bernard Madoff, now 72, was sentenced to 150 years in prison last year for a $65 billion Ponzi scheme — the biggest in history — that destroyed the life savings of some 2,300 people.

As many as 15 people who knew that a Boise police officer had confessed to molesting babies will face no criminal charges.

Ada County sheriff’s deputies investigated whether those people should be charged with failing to report the crimes. But deputies have determined that the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints congregation that Stephen R. Young attended can’t be charged because of Idaho’s clergy privilege law.

And church officials say it’s because of that very clergy privilege that Young is in prison today.

“It was efforts of the church and its leaders that resulted in this matter coming to the attention of the authorities,” said Randy Austin, an attorney specializing in child abuse cases for the church in Salt Lake City. “From the moment Mr. Young confessed, church leaders took every precaution they legally could to protect victims and the public.

“And church leaders avoided violating the clergy privilege — a breach which could have tainted the evidence against Mr. Young and jeopardized his prosecution.”

The Idaho code that defines members of the clergy — including LDS lay bishops and stake presidents — allows people to confess crimes without fear of their confessions being reported to police. But LDS officials say church policy and practice is to urge such people to turn themselves in.

While Young did confess to church leaders and was eventually excommunicated, it wasn’t until after a fellow Boise police officer who attended Young’s church heard of the punishment and spoke to him that Young turned himself in on March 2 — two days after his abrupt retirement from the Police Department, according to Ada County sheriff’s arrest reports.

That was about two months after church officials say they first talked to Young about his crimes.

A 56-year-old man with an extensive record for sexually abusing young children and producing child pornography has been handed a 15-year prison sentence and declared a long-term offender for another 10 years.

Provincial court Judge Marlene Graham declined to declare Garry Wayne Todd a dangerous offender and subject him to an indefinite prison sentence.

Despite the offences being "disgusting," she said it will eventually be safe to supervise him in the community.

After her ruling against the Crown's dangerous offender application, Graham accepted a joint sentencing submission by prosecutor Jenny Rees and defence lawyer Mark Gottlieb.

Graham noted Todd would be past 60 when released.

"That is sufficient to reduce the risk to the community to an acceptable level," she said.

"There is a reasonable possibility of eventual control in the community of the risk of reoffending. I find, untreated at his age, he is a moderate to high risk to reoffend. After the age of 60, he falls to a category of low to moderate risk level and decreasing with age."

Todd pleaded guilty in 2008 to sexual assault of a girl in the early 1990s, starting when she was just eight years old, producing child pornography and bestiality.

Call For Child Sex Abuse To Be Recognised As A Public Health Issue

Child sex abuse should be acknowledged as a public health issue according to researchers studying survivors' needs.

A University of Auckland paper, recently published in the Women & Health journal, has highlighted some of the issues faced by female child sexual abuse survivors when dealing with health professionals.

One in four New Zealand women has been affected by child sex abuse and adult survivors tend to suffer more general medical and mental health problems.

"We know women who were abused as children have more gynaecological problems and higher rates of breast cancer, than those who have not been abused. They also have higher rates of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder," says lead author Dr Kim McGregor.

"Health professionals are well-placed to improve outcomes for survivors of child sexual abuse and their families".

"Providing specialist training is the key to enabling health care professionals to be aware of the specific needs of survivors of child sexual abuse and deliver positive interventions. Having well trained and supported health care professionals aware of how to screen for and respond to reports of child sex abuse would help create a supportive environment in which survivors would feel safer to disclose the abuse and talk openly about their healthcare needs," she says.

The study participants were asked what advice they would give health professionals dealing with women with histories of sexual abuse.

As a result, the authors identified a need for health professionals to be better able to identify the effects of sexual abuse, establish a relationship of trust, ask about their history, respond appropriately to disclosure, provide medical examinations in a sensitive way and follow up with patients post-examination.

Dr McGregor says further investigation into the perceptions of health practitioners regarding their interactions with child sexual abuse survivors would also help inform the best-care model. All three entered not guilty pleas at arraignment Wednesday and argued unsuccessfully for lower bail. All three have criminal records, including manslaughter and attempted murder for Fennell and attempted murder and bank robbery for Lewis. Prosecutors said Koltun was sentenced to nearly five years in prison after a 2000 federal conviction related to mail fraud, and twice violated terms of his release.

The Piscopos were found shot to death Nov. 4 in Newburgh. Francis Piscopo was a sergeant with the Lloyd police department who left the force in 1990 and later faced charges of intimidating a witness as part of a marijuana dealing operation and stealing from his department.

Orange County Judge Jeffrey Berry ordered Fennell held without bail. He set bail at $1 million cash or $5 million bond for Koltun, and at $2 million cash or $8 million bond for Lewis.

The Middletown Times Herald-Record reported that Fennell's lawyer, Paul Trachte, and Lewis' lawyer, Gary Abramson of the Orange County Legal Aid Society, argued for lower bail because their clients were in good standing with parole at the time of their arrests; both men were working as building managers in the city.

Koltun's lawyer, James Winslow, said his client, an ordained rabbi, is seriously ill and has suffered in the jail. Koltun arrived in court using a walker and oxygen, and wearing what appeared to be dark brown hospital-type scrubs. Winslow said Koltun has numerous ailments and requires 23 medications a day, not all of which he has been getting in jail.

And Winslow said the jail hasn't found a jumpsuit large enough for the 450-pound Koltun, so he's been wearing a hospital gown.

Factors That Influence Sexual Abuse Effects

Miraculously, not all children or youth molestation victims display signs that something is wrong.

FACT: Between 21% and 36% of sexually abused children will display few or no symptoms (Oates, O'Toole, Lynch, Stern & Cooney, 19941).

Why do some victims display a multitude of emotional and behavioural effects, while others display few or none? In spite of few or no outward symptoms, child and youth victims do suffer emotionally. These emotional effects come in varying degrees, depending on the following six factors:

The nature of the relationship between the victim and the offender: the closer the emotional relationship, the greater the emotional trauma.

The age of the child when the abuse began and the duration of the sexual relationship: an ongoing sexual relationship with repeated contacts is generally more traumatic and usually produces more sexual abuse effects than a single contact.

The type of sexual activity the victim is exposed to: sexual acts involving strictly non-contact sexual abuse appears less traumatic than sexual acts that involve contact. It is important to note, however, that trauma and the sexual abuse effects are still very real when any type of sexual abuse occurs.

For an excellent discussion written by Colette Dowling, M.S.W. about sexual abuse in school girls, check out Colette is an internationally renown lecturer and author of eight books, including her best-seller The Cinderella Complex, which has been in print for 25 years.

The degree of physical aggression directed at the victim: violence adds to the trauma of the abuse. Being physically abused, having a mother who is mentally ill, not having someone to confide in, and being socially isolated are significant predictors for childhood sexual abuse (Fleming, Mullen & Bammer, 19972).

The response the victim receives when she/he discloses the abuse: healing is apparent when a disclosure is met with compassion and is followed with effective intervention; if the victim is met with skepticism and accusations, anger, or no response at all when she/he discloses, the sexual abuse effects are compounded.

The availability of a supportive person in the victim's life: a caring, loving, nurturing, and listening person in the victim's life lessens the trauma; a lack of a supportive person intensifies the abuse and leaves the victim feeling even more lonely, helpless, and unworthy.

All it takes to engulf an entire region is mother-nature, and behind the controls is none other than God. In the same fashion we will witness the demise of certain species of rabbis liable for the sexual abuse of children.

Because of statute of limitations, many sex offenders dodge the law and ridiculously given ample opportunity to re-offend in what is surly a continuing vicious cycle.

PREDICTION: SOL will eventually be overturned in New York State, and/or a one year window and an extension in age.

Enjoy the snowflakes then ask yourself this question, when is mother-nature going to call for these criminals?

About Me

It is unfortunate that it has come to this. It is a big darn shame it has come to this. It is very hurtful that it has come to this. But yet, IT HAS COME TO THIS. It has come at the price of a GREAT CHILUL HASHEM. It has come to Hashem having to allow his holy name to be DESECRATED so that his CHILDREN remain SAFE. Shame on all those responsible for enabling and permitting Hashem's name to be desecrated! When you save children you save the future. You save the future you save generations. You save generations you save lives. You save lives you have saved the world!!!!!!!
